Buskerfest was a Blast!

Thanks for having an events calendar, I volunteered from 9:30 to 1:00am today. It was utterly amazing. I caught a few performances, saw lurch the amazingly tall pantomime on stilts. Going at night was a lot more interesting then going in the day, because it feel more like a party. I met some wonderful people and ate some wonderful food. I met this awsome Aussie band called Rivertribe and they were so kind to give me a free CD, "thanks Mike Lane". I plan on doing it again next year. Thanks to everyone there for making me feel really happy. I won't forget tonight. :-)

If you want to check out Rivertribe check out their website at http://www.rivertribe.com. They have some really awsome mello mood music.

Getting TIG, Hands On!

Hey all out there, I'm interested in getting Toronto, Mississauga, Brampton, and surrounding areas TIG members involved hands on. What I mean is, there are a lot of plantings and outdoor opportunities that are posted on the web and I would like to know who would like to participate. The Task Force to Bring Back the Don allows Teams to actively participate in the restoration, and monitoring of sites they agree to take care of. If TIG can work some members together who would be interested drop me a line.

Check out the Task Force Events Site

Evergreen also has some cool opportunities.

Have fun, and get back to me a.s.a.p.

REALLY, getting involved!

Today I got inspired. Inspired by what you may ask, well I'm inspired to get involved with TIG in Toronto here. I really want to become a part of it because it represents what I believe. The people who work for TIG are great, funny, informative, and inspiring. I'm really motivated by environmental issues and I'm hopeing somehow we can collaborate and get our brains working together. So Jennifer, Mike, and Ashley listen up, because I'm in like a storm. I'm not going to miss this opportunity.

Everyone Needs A Break

Hi everyone, I'm just wondering how feasible the idea of starting an organization that helps underprivlidged youths be able to go on nature outings and other outdoor activities such as rock-climbing. I think that this idea would be really good because, sometimes these people can turn to drugs or worse out of boredom. Giving low income, street youth and adults a time to be able to try something new and find out they like something. I think at first the only way to be able to sponsor these outings would be to do some fundraising. If anyone, has and comments or additional ideas to add to mine, please let me know.

I'll be there

It's funny how a lot of people look down on you when they don't know what's really going on. You may look upset or sad or even angry, but people don't talk to you to ask you what's wrong. Sometimes these people, but especially me needs a person to ask how's it going when they look not all to well. I try to do that when someone else looks down or upset. I'm not sure why people don't ask, maybe it's because they are afraid they'll "open up a can of worms", that can't be shut, or that they don't know. I personally think, if someone is comfortable to tell you things that you might not want to know, then they are probably worth getting to know. I just need a break, next time you see me looking down, ask how I'm doing. Don't forget, we all need friends. Next time, I see you upset, or sad, I'll be there and even offer you a hug.
